Proud.....Now it's time to party

Man I'm sitting here listening to the new CD with some nice headphones and I'm really really proud of what we were able to do on this CD. We worked hard, wrote some really good songs, produced the hell out of it, and now it's finished. It's off to be mastered as we speak. Now that's it's finished it's time to plan the party, and one hell of a party it will be. I'll give you all a head start. March 4th, Firewater in Dallas is the CD release party. Write it down tell all your friends. This is going to be the biggest Monkeyshyne show ever. The stuff we have planned for this show....Well some will have to come to see. I also take this chance to offer all of you a great opportunity. We travel and play in roughly a 2-4 hour drive on a regular basis. This is your chance to live the life of a musician for a day. Travel to Dallas bring some friends, make it a roadtrip. Roadtrips are the best. If we get enough responses I will be more than happy to work out a deal with a hotel/motel here in town to get everyone a discount. My email is geminimusician@yahoo.com Now don't get me wrong we will be having a CD release party in each town, but this one is the first and biggest. Ohhh did I forget to mention that the 1st 500 people in the door get a free CD. Let's all band together and let the world know that there is still a great music scene in Dallas. Did I forget to mention that I do believe the Josh Goode band will be playing with us that night. This party has been 7 months in the making. Now is the time. Tell everyone you know and let's all tear the roof off Firewater. More details to come. You better check the blogs:)

Back to playing with the boys

Tonight is going to be the first time the three of us have played together in 2 weeks. I miss playing with the boys(good game). It will be nice to get back into playing and playing and driving and playing and driving and driving. Even though sometimes we all get caught up in everything else we have going on in the world, the fact remains that when we get together and play all the other shit goes away, even if only for an hour here and there. I miss the boys and the "Year of The Monkey" starts tonight. We are going to bring the house down this year. New Cd, new attitude, and a new year. See you this weekend in Tyler. Much Love.

I suck

Sorry for not updating as much lately but while the boys were on their vacations i was taking some time for myself as well. I was kinda on vacation but i didn't go any where. I just had alot of stuff going on and needed some time to sort through it in my head. To all of my friends that i have been kinda ignoring i'm sorry but i just needed some time without distractions. So if you called and i didnt answer or call you back now you know it wasnt personal. I do apoligize but like i said i needed some alone time. I have been very antisocial lately but come wedsnday we start practing and playing agian so that will help. Anyways i'm alive and kicking and this year will be the year of the monkey. Ok enough whining from me. In case you didn't hear Chris is the new overnight DJ in Whichata Falls "The Buzz" rock station. Congrats bro. I'm proud of you.

Parents Land

Sunday I went up to my parents land to help my Dad run some water lines and work on the brush pile. My parents bought like 20 acres outside of Bonham, Texas. They are working on clearing out the land and going to build their dream ranch house in which they will eventually retire. Monday we worked all day, got 1000 feet of water line run. Which consists of digging a 18-24 in trench then lay the pise and connect it. It was a long hard job then we worked on turning a huge brush pile my dad has built up into wood chips. We put a small dent in the pile. Here is a pic of me and my Pops and the brush pile.

Bon Jovi

Saturday night my roomate and I drove to Oklahoma city to go see the world renowned BON JOVI. Yes that's right i'm an 80's kid and I love Bon Jovi. It was a great show had a blast and got the phone number of our hottie waitress in OKC. So it was a great night. This pic kinda sucks but what do you expect from a camera phone.

The CD is finished

Yes you heard me right the CD is finished.(Well kinda) Ok the mixing is all done now all we have to do is send it to be mastered, and then to press to get them printed up. It was a long tedious project at times but wow when I listen to it the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. This is 100 times better than any other CD we have done to date. We are planning the CD releases as we speak. Yes you heard me each town we play in will get their very own CD release party. BTW sorry about our website being down for a few days, the problem is fixed thanks for your patience.

New Tattoo

Yep Kasper was at it again. He came to visit Dallas for a week and I made him bring his guns so I could get work done. This is the next piece for my right sleeve. Slowly but surely it will get done. Tonight was 3 hours under the gun. This piece has some sentimental value as well. A memorial for a couple of fallen friends. Miss you Shawn and Dave. R.I.P. Well enjoy the pics and hope everyone had a great new years. Much love

$215 bar tab

Omg we were in Temple on New Years and we ran up a $215 bar tab. The Jager gods were happy with us. It was a great time. Keith was there and brought his bass so it was like old times and he played with us almost all night. Then our sax player was there also and he played with us. It was a great night of partying and drinking. If you weren't there then you missed Chris playing drums and me rapping. Plus Bums, the club we played at put us up in nice hotel rooms. Usually when the club pays for hotels its either motel 6 or la quinta(spanish for right next to denny's). Now those aren't bad we have stayed in worse but Bum's put us up at the Holiday inn. We all had our own rooms which was really nice. We had a great year and you guys made it possible by coming out to the shows, showing your support, telling you friends about us. Let's work together to make this year the year of the monkey, shyne that is. Much love
