S.H.I.T

In order to assure the highest levels of quality work and productivity from employees, it will be our policy to keep all employees well trained through our program of SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (S.H.I.T.).
We are trying to give our employees more S.H.I.T. than anyone else. If you feel that you did not receive your share of S.H.I.T. on the course, please see your supervisor. You will be immediately placed on top of the S.H.I.T. list, and our supervisors are especially skilled at seeing you get all the S.H.I.T. you can handle.

Employees who don't take their S.H.I.T. will be placed in DEPARTMENTAL EMPLOYEE EVALUATION PROGRAMS (D.E.E.P. S.H.I.T.). Those who fail to take D.E.E.P. S.H.I.T. seriously will have to go to EMPLOYEE ATTITUDE TRAINING (E.A.T. S.H.I.T.). Since our supervisors took S.H.I.T. before they were promoted, they don't have to take S.H.I.T. anymore, and are full of S.H.I.T. already.
* If you are full of S.H.I.T., you may be interested in a job teaching others.
We can add your name to our BASIC UNDERSTANDING LIST of LEADERS (B.U.L.L. S.H.I.T.). For employees who are intending to pursue a career in management and consulting, we will refer you to the department of MANAGERIAL OPERATIONAL RESEARCH EDUCATION (M.O.R.E. S.H.I.T.). This course emphasizes how to manage M.O.R.E. S.H.I.T. If you have further questions, please direct them to our HEAD OF TEACHING, SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (H.O.T. S.H.I.T.).

Thank You,
BOSS IN GENERAL, SPECIAL HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING (B.I.G. S.H.I.T.)

Good Times

Well the weekend went off without a hitch. Ok maybe not without a hitch but it was great weekend. Frist off we goto to Bum's at Temple and started loading all the gear in the club and get ready for set up when "The Oz" turned to me and said dude I left my clothes in Dallas.(We ride to the shows naked for solidarity) Well "The Oz" went off to the mall down the street to go shopping. He got back about midnight because he got all caught up in the shopping thing. He bought 18 pairs of jeans 14 shirts and 32 pairs of shoes to go with all the new outfits he bought. The show Friday night was awesome the place was packed and we brought the party.

Saturday night we were in a new club in downtown Lewisville(we didn't know they had a downtown either) It was good times and we had the whole place dancing by the end of the night. Cliff got some good pics from the night, hopefully he'll post them soon. Tonight we are at Sherlock's in Addison for "Rock The Troops" show. It should be good times. Dont forget to come out and listen to Chris and "The Oz" tommorow night at Standard and Pours. See Chris's blog for more details. See you in addison tonight. Let's bring the house down.

Busy couple of weeks

Oh yes that is right we have a full couple weeks in front of us and I love it. Friday we are back in Temple. Always good times playing out at Bums. http://www.myspace.com/bumsportsbar
Saturday we are playing a FREE show in Lewisville at The Old Flying Pig. We haven’t played there yet so it should be interesting to say the least. Bottom line we will bring the party. Sunday is my youngest nieces 2nd birthday party so I get to hang out with my girls Sunday, I can’t wait. Then on Tuesday night we are playing a “Rock The Troops” benefit show at Sherlock’s in Addisonhttp://sherlockspub.com/index2.htm Sherlock’s is a fun place to play and one of my friends is a bartender there and I don’t get to see her very much so I can’t wait. Now on Weds day Chris and Oz will be at Standard and Pours http://www.standardandpours.com/ in Dallas to give a speech on music and then perform acoustic. I believe that I will be there as long as I’m not working. Then next Friday we will be back in Wichita Falls headlining at the Iron Horse Pub,http://www.theironhorsepub.com/home.shtml one of our favorite stages to play on. So the next couple weeks will be pretty hectic because we are also getting ready to get back in the studio to start recording the next CD. On a side note it’s official, Kinky Friedman (kinkyfriedman.com) will be on the ballot to run for Governor of Texas. I’m a supporter so this won’t be the last you hear about Kinky from me. Alright I’m off to bed Temple here we come, get ready.

New Weekend Update

So we had a weekend off so what did I do? Well Friday Cliff(Chuck) took me to go see the Frisco RoughRiders play baseball. They are the Texas Rangers AA farm team. We had a good time drank some beer, yelled at umpires and admired the beautiful women of North Dallas.

Well Saturday I tried to get caught up on housework, laundry, and errands that I needed to get done. Then Saturday night I chilled at the house and got very not sober and hung out online like a nerd for most of the night. Well Sunday morning I was up at the butt crack of dawn and off to the radio station to learn some more technical dj stuff. Well as you know Sunday was EDGEFEST and we broadcasted live out there all day, so I was working with the "Board Op" who is the person that runs the board back at the station while broadcasting live. Well anyways I was excited because by the end of my training I actually got to run the board myself(real board op watching me like a hawk.lol) Well I left the station about 2p.m. to meet up with Cliff and head out to EDGEFEST.

Omg Traffic sucked and we parked like 3 miles away, literally. We got to the show just in time to see Buck Cherry. They put on a good show and everyone went nuts when they played "Crazy Bitch". After them Drowing Pool hit the stage and they tore it up. I got chills because this was the first time I have seen them play since Dave Williams death. The new singer was very respectfull in giving Dave praise. After that Blue October came on and we went to the side stage and saw 30 seconds to Mars which I think almost everyone else did also because they were all out there. Once Blue October was finished we went back to the main stage to get ready. Ready for what you might ask?? I'll tell you.

THE TOADIES!!!!!!!!

They played all their hits and the stadium was rocking. They put on a killer show, high energy. Needless to say Cliff and I both got sunburnt. We left after the Toadies so we could get to a Tv before the Mavericks broke our heart agian. It's ok we will win in 7. I still have faith in my boys. Well that is my weekend in a nutshell. I know I haven't been bloggin as much as usuall so I ask you. I need topics so if you have a question to ask me or want my opinion on something then email me at geminimusician@yahoo.com and I might just blog about it. Im out.

We need to win tonight then we can drop the next game and win here at home for game 6. I will be cheering for the boys no matter what but I would love for them to be able to win at home. The parade is already planned just waiting on the day. So tonight dont call me because my ass will be in front of the tv with the fellas yelling and screaming Go Mavs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Weekend Update

Well this weekend we started it off playing in Tyler. We were all in high spirits for some odd reason. So Chris, "The Oz", Keith, Cliff(Chuck), and I headed off down the road in Dallas rush hour traffic with a nicely working ac unit(thank you Chris and papa Cloutier). Chris drove, I road shotgun and the rest of the boys were in the back. So while Chris and I discussed why American Idol is so popular these days and why you will never hear a hamster fart(hair works as sound proofing) Keith was filling in "The Oz" and Cliff about his nice pleasant trip to Dallas earlier in the day. We arrive in Tyler in just enough time to scarf down some Wendy's and meet up with our good friend Scott. We got to the club and set up shop. We had a great time consumed alot of jager($150 bar tab) and got to hang with Audra, April and "The Crew". I must admit there were some very beautiful ladies in Tyler Friday night.(Wow, hopefully pics coming soon…..Cliff, Scott…pics???) The great thing about playing Tyler is that the place we play closes at midnight so actually make it home before the sun comes up. Ok moving on.

Saturday we had rehearsal and worked on some new songs. Man I’m starting to get exited about getting back in the studio, these new songs kick ass. I know I’m biased but I also know what I’m talking about.(lol) Saturday night I got to hang out with an old friend from St louis. She was in town and it happened to be her birthday. So we got to hang out and catch up so that was cool.

Sunday, well first lets start off with MAVS WIN!!!!!!!!!!! 2-0 in the series

I was working all day. I had to be at the station at 2:30 then packed up the truck and headed out to Starplex(it will always be starplex to me) for the Sammy Hagar show. It was actually a Bone 93.3 concert so we didn’t have to set up anything we just went out there parked in the parking lot and gave away bumber stickers for about 4 hours then we went in watched the show. It was a pretty good show. The 1st set was Sammy and his band playing Sammy tunes. I forgot how many hits he had on his own. They took about a 15-20 min break then the band comes back out with a new bassist. Yep it was Micheal Anthony from Van Halen. The next hour and a half was all Van Hagar. When it got to that point I went and watched the game at the concession. Overall it was a good show. Sammy is deffinetly a performer. I’m telling you I love my job, I get paid to goto a concert and get non sober and hang out. Good Times. That was what I did this weekend. In Closing……GO MAVS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MAVS WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The fans came out in full force for game one of the NBA finals at the American Airline Center. It was a killer game. They scared me a couple time but the crowd was behind them %100 the whole game.
These are the people that aren't afraid to go out in public and have a great time and not care what anybody else thinks. I consider myself a Mavs fan but I don't think I would paint myself blue and wear a speedo to the game. I don't have the guts. So I aplaud these people. The fans will help bring the championship home to Dallas. Go Mavs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Together is now up

That is right we have been slowly rotating the songs on our myspace page www.myspace.com/monkeyshyne , and now the cover of the Turtles "Happy Together" that we recorded on the last CD is up there now. If by chance you haven't heard it then you've got to go check it out. We are very proud because we "monkeyshyned it" and made it our own. Now we are in a small legal battle with the remaining members of the Turtles even though we purchaced the rights to the song. When they heard how good the song could actually be they got upset and are threating to sue us. The fact is there is nothing we can do but enjoy the song until the court battle is over and hopefully we will stil be able to play it. Now don't get me wrong we LOVE the Turtles and we're trying to pay homage to the Green Shelled Quartet, but they saw it as we were saying Monkeys are better that Turtles.(Off the record I think monkeys are the best but our attorney wont let me say it on the record or else i would) Anyways hurry up go listen to the song on myspace and tell all your friends. This is shaping up to be a news worthy story and we could sure use the press. Here's to being "Happy Together"

Good Weekend

Ok lets see where do I start. Friday morning I had an appearance with the station. I got to work with John Dylan who has been a DJ in Dallas for 30 years. He was one the Zoo way back in the day. He is also as drummer and we talked shop for about an hour. Good times. Then Friday night we were in Denton at the Garage. We were totally blown away because some of our die hard Wichata Falls fan drove all the way to Denton to some see us. Thank you ladies you made our night.
Then on Saturday we had a good practice. We learned a couple new cover songs and worked on some new Monkeyshyne music. Well let's see Saturday night well we all know what happened there. The MAVS are in the NBA Finals for the first time ever. Go MAVS!!!!!!

Ok now we are onto Sunday where our great friend and awesome photographer the almighty Cliff(aka Chuck) got us killer seats to the Dallas Desperados playoff game at the American Airline Center. Now although they didnt win and are not going to the Arena bowl Keith, "The OZ" and I had a great time. Chris didn't get to make it out because his wife had him shopping at bed bath and beyond.

It was an awesome weekend. I am really looking forward to playing Tyler this Friday night. Hope everyone had a great weekend. Much Love,
